When Molly’s mum – the very crafty and clever Rebecca of Little Spunky Monkey – plans a party, one knows that the results are going to be something special!
Beck’s little Molly was turning 2 and the theme for the party was Country Fair. So much effort went into creating the look, and many items were sourced – haystacks, animals (real ones!), even some vintage red and white striped straws that were on the sweets table, and it was all totally worth it!
One of the highlights of the party was a makeshift photo booth area. People seemed afraid of it at first, but then it became a little success. Most of the guests got into the spirit of the theme by wearing the animal accessories that the host had provided. Everyone had fun with it! Beck says that one of her favourite photos is the shot with her nanna wearing a beak. You don’t see that often, hey? Hehe.
It rained for a brief period and this brought about some really interesting images! I love the frozen droplets and the semi chaos of people darting left, right and centre. (These are in the slideshow.)
There were kids and props and people and bubbles and food and laughter and babies and tantrums and love everywhere. It was crazy, but just what feel-good parties are all about. On that note, after the rain, one of the guests asked me if I was insane to be photographing children’s parties. It was such a funny moment. And then another guest asked if I felt shagged. Haha.
Beck, what can I say, you’ve allowed me to create some of my favourite images to date. Thank you so much for asking me – there was inspiration everywhere and I’ll never forget that! You did a GRAND job. Now… time to have fun planning Ned’s birthday? :)
